THE NEW IT GIRL! Please allow me to introduce...

In observance of Halloween...I decided to wrap up my October drawing a day early. I couldn't bring myself to choose just one name. There were so many good ones...I made the Randomizer choose instead.

Veronica, suggested by Vintage Whimsy came up in the winning position! Step on up and claim your brooch Ms. Whimsy!!

I like the name! When I was a kid I loved to read Archies comic that's what I think of when I hear Veronica...and I think it suits her just fine!

Thanks to everyone for playing!! I always have fun with these games...I hope you do too!

Veronica wanted to dress up for I let her borrow one of my old costumes. Spooky...

I was going to let her help me pass out candy...but it seems shes eaten most of it!

Bad girl! I can see I'm going to have to watch this one!

Oh well...I'm off to buy more candy for all the little ghouls and goblins...Have a fun Halloween everyone!!

Happy Treasure Hunting!

P.S. I've been Boo-ed! Oh the shame...wait it's not that kind of boo-ed. Pat has boo-ed me in the spirit of Halloween with this little treat...

Thanks Pat!

The rules:
The Blogging Boo works like this ... Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "Boo-ed". Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (the cute picture) and tell them to "Boo" their friends. Then, put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you've already been "Boo-ed" and to send the pic to someone else.

So BOO to you!!!

All Work and No Play....

...we all know how that one goes! I've been pretty busy lately with all my recent estate sale finds...lots of cleaning, fixing, organizing and listing. But, I for one, have to find time to play! And I have....over at Two Dog Pond...even the name suggests fun to me!

Last week I met a new playmate...Rachel Pozehl...creative force behind Two Dog Pond...

Doesn't she look like fun!!

So, last week Rachel suggested a new game...Yea...I love games! This game involves thinking of a clever saying...I'm clever! I can do that! Here was Rachel's first challenge...

What a funny picture! That's one daring looking woman...I'm a daring women!! I would like to do what she's doing:D Looks like fun!! 'bout that..."Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"...ok, Cindy Lauper said it first...but it's true! Leah was playing too...she suggested "i've got the baking powder"...I thought that was really funny!

As if having fun playing wasn't reward enough in itself...Rachel has prizes!

How cool is that...a special made prize...just for me for being so clever:D

...but wait...Joy was playing with us too and she was even more clever! She was so good at "thinking outside of the box"...that she came up with a saying and a new "form"...a mirror dingle...and that crazy Rachel made her a prize too!!!

What a great friend Rachel is!! I like playing with her!

Yesterday...I stopped by Two Dog Pond...and Rachel had another round ready for us!

Hmmmm...I think this one's harder! Such a cool image...hmmm...what is she thinking?!

Won't you come over and play with us!? I'll bet you're really clever!!

As a show of solidarity with fellow shadow shooters M.Kate and Hey Harriet, who have recently displayed extreme bravery in quest of the perfect shadow and for all the shooters every week who endure the curious stares of neighbors...I decided to display my own brand of bravery!

Here for your viewing pleasure is the underside of my couch...

Shoot on sisters...shoot on!!

…I’ve made it home safely from the estate sale. Actually I’ve made it home twice. I came home and had lunch, unloaded and headed back for a second go at it. I’m pooped! But a promise is a promise!

The prices weren’t bad…just a few things a little higher than I really wanted to pay. Like the red enamel ware table and the wrought iron bird cage stand and a great chandelier...they were all still there after I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. I'll go back on Saturday for 1/2 price day hopefully those things will still be waiting for me.

As it turns out the other brother is not deceased (just the artist one). The other is alive and well and I had a very nice visit with him.

So, what did I get…well let me first apologize for the quality of the pictures. They didn’t turn out so great…but I just don’t have the energy to take better photos. So here you go….

The big heap ‘o stuff.

I missed out on a lot of the furniture...and don't hate me but three dress forms! Doh!! But the clothes grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go! Wanna play dress up?

What I was loving about these clothes was not only that they are in great condition...and cuter than they look in these photos...but that they are mostly larger sizes 14, 16, 18! Two of them...I don't think you can tell, but they are sundresses with little bolero jackets...very cute!

I got over 100 vintage greeting cards!

These are a few of my favs...

Oh! And these totally Atomic curtains...

There are two huge panels!!

For the cracked doll head 'bout foot under glass?!

I got a lot of vintage patterns...can't wait to look thru those better.

And a little box of wallpaper boarder.

Hopefully I will find them all new homes...and all my little orphan treasures will have new forever homes where they can live happily ever after! The end.

Happy Treasure Hunting!

ESTATE SALE TEASE...and a promise

Today's post comes by way of suggestion from Lauren...a reader of this blog. In an email Lauren wrote "Oh, and I NEVER get tired of seeing and reading about things you find at sales. It's addicting." It sure is Lauren...addicting...but that's a whole other post..or 10! Let's just say I think it is one of the more "healthy" addictions!

What really got me thinking was the part about "...seeing and reading about things you find". I've been trying...with moderate avoid sales recently as I have a lot of inventory to work with right now. But then my husband put this clipping on my desk...

...I know where this's less than a block from our house! I've been wanting to get into this building for 6 years!!

The story goes that there were two bachelor brothers that lived here in town and ran this antique store. It hadn't been open for years before we moved in. One of the brothers lived in a small apartment next door and was an artist.

And the other brother lived in a house somewhere in the village. Apparently one or both of the brothers are now deceased. The sale will be in the shop and the "residence" next door...where the "artist" brother lived.

Over the years I've talked around town trying to meet one of these two gentlemen in hopes of gaining entry to the no avail. I'd wanted not only a chance to shop...but I wanted to see inside the building. I love old buildings! This one was built in 1908 and not only had the antique shop downstairs but had apartments upstairs. I would love to see those apartments! I doubt that the company will let anyone upstairs...but hey...half my dream is coming true. I'm getting to see the shop...and to shop! I tried to peek in the I have many times before...but it's hard to see much. Look at those old tin ceilings!

For a better look at some of the items in the sale click here. See anything you need?

My husband spoke with one of the people from Lawson's and what he understood is that they expect to have two more sales to clean out these two buildings! Guess I won't be having to travel far for inventory for a while?!

So what we have here a tease and a promise! The sale starts Thursday and I will post pictures of Part I of my haul sometime that afternoon...promise! If you don't see a post up by Thursday evening...please send help!!

Happy Treasure Hunting!
