I have a series of photos to share for this weeks Shadow Shot. I took them last week while out in Denver. They are of the Graham-Bible House (listed on the National Historic Register) in City Park in Denver, Colorado. This is the house where my husband spent most of his summers growing up. As most of you have probably read here previously...Kevin's grandfather was the Denver Parks supervisor from 1937 to 1970 and lived in this house in the park. Kevin's parents would drop him off at Grandma and Grandpa's house in June and he would generally play "King of the Park" all summer.
Kevin has lots of great stories about the goings on...he tells how he was allowed to slip in the back gate of the Denver Zoo (which is a part of the park)and wander unsupervised for hours. And how he and his Grandmother would collect pigeon feathers that she would help him make into Indian style headdresses.
Entrance to City Park.
The Carriage house.
The crap shooters that played in the park would pay Kevin to run to this store across York Street to get them beer...and the store actually sold it to him?! Hey, what 10 year old didn't make beer runs?!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! For more Shadow Shot fun be sure to visit Hey Harriet and follow the links!!
