Last week I showed some photos from a vintage newspaper. This is the second paper I was referring to...the antique one. It was found insulating the walls in an old house in Detroit, MI.
The Detroit News Tribune from August 20, 1916 (click on any of the photos to enlarge and have a better look).
Clearly they are not in the best condition...but that they survived at all, stuffed into the walls of a house, is a bit of an amazement to me.
It's neat to see how some things just haven't changed much. They had sales...'course the prices were much lower.
Took pride in their homes and appearance...
Liked to know other peoples business...
And to be entertained.
And they needed to get away once in a while.
