Shadow Shot Sunday

In keeping with the gaming theme from my last post...I found another new old one yesterday. I'd not heard of this one either. Scribbage. 1963. E.S. Lowe Co.

We've not played it yet, but it's on the agenda for the weekend.

Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!

Friday Fun - Vintage Games

Here at Casa De RetroStyle we like games. Any kind of game will do...card
games, lawn games, board games...you name it...as long as it's fun. Scrabble and Up Words are two of our fave board games.

We also get a kick out of trying the oldies but goodies. I don't even try to resist, when I find a good deal on a new old one...I just bring it on home.

My most recent find is one I'd never heard of before...

4Cyte or Foresight the Plan ahead strategy game circa 1967 by Milton Bradley. It's really quite fun if you enjoy word games. We played three rounds the other night...had to have a tie breaker!

Do you have a favorite board game?

Friday Fun - Etsy Window Shopping

I had fun last week on my little Etsy shopping adventure...hopefully you did too. So, being that I think surfing around Etsy is a fun Friday kind of thing to do...I thought I would do it again today.

This week let's do a little treasury shopping. We start back here on Etsy's main buying page and then choose Treasury. From here you can type whatever floats your boat in the search bar and see what collections Etsy members have handpicked for you.

Let's try...."Friday".

Eek...there's a lot of scary ones there. Makes sense as last Friday was Friday the 13th....but here's one I like...not so scary. It's called Girl Friday...

Great Fedora!

Let's try another one...hows 'bout "nature". Wow...there's alot under that one. What's not to love here? Green...

Those Hand Stamped Clothespins are cute! And I am really fascinated by the main product in her shop Eco Friendly Wool Felted Dryer Balls.

I feel so unhip...I've never heard of these before. Have you? Anyone tried them? How'd they work?

Fun. You never know what you'll end up finding when you go window shopping in Etsy treasuries.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Adventures in Shopping

Did you know that there are 16 different ways to shop on Etsy? Some of them are quite random and make shopping an interesting adventure.

One I find rather fun is the Geolocator. Here you can take a spin around the globe and see the newest listings from anywhere on the planet. In addition to seeing the most recent 100 items from around the globe...you can also use the locator to see the newest listings from any specific location of your choosing, as well as searching by tags, materials or sellers...making it kind of 5 different ways in one.

Here are some of the items I found when I took the geolocator for a spin...

1.)DeerLola. Belgium. Sterling Silver Honey Yellow Agate Earrings
2.)Liz Hutnick. San Francisco. Sunny Day Ring
3.)FoxedEyeSights. Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Rollercoaster Drive-8x10
4.)jellycake. Lyme Regis, England. Woodland walk
5.)VintageNesting. Ashland, OR. Antique Maddock Co. Ironstone Pitcher
6.)SewPosh. Muldrow. Summer in the Shade

Do you have a favorite method of shopping on Etsy?
